Guest Speaker Christi Norfleet Foothills Animal Shelter August 22, 2017
Update on Foothills Animal Shelter.
Christi Norfleet came to speak to our group this past week, talking to us about Foothills Animal Shelter, what they do and an upcoming fundraiser.
Originally founded in 1976, Jeffco’s animal shelter serves Arvada, Edgewater, Golden, Lakewood, Westminster, Wheat Ridge, and unincorporated Jefferson County. The organization works closely with animal welfare officers across Jefferson County to keep neighborhoods safe and educate the community. Current facility is 33,000 square feet, with a medical suite for animals.
From the website: Foothills Animal Shelter is an open-admissions facility, which means we never turn away an animal. We care for more than 9,200 orphaned cats, kittens, dogs, puppies and critters every year with a compassionate team of staff and volunteers. (Unfortunately, we can not accept wild animals; they should be taken to organizations who specialize in their care.) We are a true community resource and offer a variety of services including pet adoption, Jefferson County pet licensing, affordable spaying and neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and lost and found pets. We are committed to our important mission and the life-saving work that we do every day of the year.
Upcoming Fundraiser: September 16, 2017 is “Toby’s Pet Parade & Fair”, benefitting Foothills Animal Shelter. Event will be held in Golden, CO. Dress your dog in their best costume and enjoy the festivities. 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM. For registration:
